Richard Bingham: Queensland Integrity Commissioner

The Queensland Integrity Commissioner is an independent officer of the Queensland Parliament who is responsible for providing advice on integrity and ethics issues and for maintaining the lobbyists register.

Under the Integrity Act 2009, the Integrity Commissioner can give written advice to Ministers, MPs, senior public servants and others about ethics or integrity issues, including conflicts of interest.
He may also meet with and give advice to MPs on ethics and integrity issues in relation to their declarations of financial interests.

The Integrity Commissioner is responsible for maintaining the Queensland Lobbyists Register and monitoring compliance by lobbyists and government with the Act and the Lobbyists Code of Conduct.

National Integrity Conference 2017

The Queensland Integrity Commissioner, Richard Bingham, will be participating in and speaking at the inaugural National Integrity Conference 2017 which will be held on the 16 – 17 March 2017.

What is National Integrity 2017: Building the Public/Private Alliance?

Transparency International Australia’s first biennial conference comes to you as part of a unique opportunity – a fresh assessment of Australia’s National Integrity Systems, applying lessons learned from over 100 countries around the world.

Over the next two years, an Australian Research Council-funded team, led by Griffith University’s Centre for Governance and Public Policy, will work with government, business and civil society to identify the key strengths, gaps, opportunities and solutions for national approaches to preventing, limiting and combatting corruption.
