Adjustment Period
To support a smooth transition to the new Code, the Queensland Integrity Commissioner implemented an adjustment period. It is now being extended until 30 November 2026.
This adjustment period has been extended to:
- allow time for feedback from lobbyists and other stakeholders (received up until 30 September) to be considered
- consider whether further amendments will be made to the Code and directives
- support implementation of the final Code and directives
- enable time for any final changes to be communicated and supported by additional resources
- provide certainty during the transition period, with the current approach to regulatory action remaining in place until 30 November 2026.
Until 30 November 2026, any instance of non-compliance with a new or changed requirement, compared with the pre-1 July 2026 Code will not be subject to regulatory action and will not be considered in any later regulatory action.
