Register of lobbying contacts
Section 68 of the Integrity Act 2009 states that the Lobbyists Code of Conduct can impose obligations on lobbyists to give the Integrity Commissioner information about lobbying activities. The code includes a requirement for lobbyists to notify their contacts with government and opposition representatives. The information is entered directly into this website and is available for public access.
The contact logs for each lobbying entity can also be accessed directly via their details page.
Registered lobbying entities can enter details of their lobbying contacts by logging into their online account. Detailed instructions on how to enter your information have been added to the appropriate section of the User Manual.
The required details are:
- date of meeting
- title(s) and or name(s) of government or opposition representative(s)
- name of the lobbyist entity
- name of the client
- purpose of the meeting.
The last element will be selected from a list on a drop-down menu, the final two choices being 'commercial-in-confidence' and 'other', with space to explain if other is chosen.
Details for each month’s meetings to be entered and submitted by the 15th of the following month.
If your entity has more than one meeting in a month with government or opposition representatives on behalf of a particular client relating to a specific issue, you will be able to enter multiple dates in the one report. This will avoid having to complete multiple reports containing the same information.
If after submitting the contact log you realise you made an error you will not be able to edit the details. Contact the Register of Lobbyists office on 07 3003 2887 or email lobbyistsregister@integrity.qld.gov.au and an officer will remove or amend the material as necessary.
